John Aldred started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2015 under Dr. Karl Saunders at Saunix BJJ. In September 2018 he was promoted to blue belt. In 2020 he took year off from BJJ for his family and went to trade school. In April 2021 John joined Gracie Allegiance Ohio under Jason Cable. After John's son also started training at the academy he decided to help teach the kids classes. John will also fill in teaching adult classes if Jason is unavailable. John is a Purple Belt under Professor Cable. He likes helping teach the kids and adult classes as he believes our sport helps everyone develop into better people. He also believes teaching reinforces his own understanding of the fundamentals. John has won bronze and silver medals in local tournaments.

Joe began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in December 2020 under the tutelage of Professor Cable. Guided by Professor Cable's leadership, Joe earned a promotion to the rank of Blue Belt in October 2022. As a former high school and college athlete now in his 40’s, he found training BJJ to be more than just learning the art. He sees it as an excellent way to maintain discipline, stay in physical and mental shape, and keep a competitive edge. He has competed at both 155 and 170 weight classes and has a silver medal in each division. Throughout the years, Joe has actively contributed to the local community by coaching various kids' sports teams. This experience, coupled with his commitment to advancing in the sport, made him an ideal addition to the instructor team at Gracie Allegiance Ohio's thriving kids program. Off the mats, Joe embraces an active lifestyle. He is an avid skier and backpacker, finding both adventure and peace in the outdoors. Above all, Joe values his family, which consists of his wife and their three children, making quality time with them the top priority in his life.

Hi my name is Melinda Derricott, but I go by Mindi. I received my Blue Belt September 21, 2024 from Professor Cable. If you ask the kid's class my name is Minnie Mouse. I joined Gracie Allegiance Ohio in July of 2022 and immediately fell in love with the academy and the family environment Gracie Allegiance Ohio has to offer. I started teaching as Assistant Coach for kids classes and love teaching the kids; playing games with them and watching them grow not just as students but as individuals. I competed in my first tournament at Grappling Industries in Newark winning Double Gold. I compete regularly leaving my record at 24 wins with 21 by submission, 2 by points, and 1 by decision. I Won Gold at IBJJF Virginia International Open July 20, 2024.
